New Funding Available for Ohio Schools to Address Student Mental Health

With the passage of Ohio House Bill 166, Ohio students are one step closer to having access to critical mental health services in their schools.

HB 166 allocates funds to school districts to set up dedicated programs to address the mental health of their students.

Potential mental health services available to students include counseling and addiction services.

According to the Ohio Coalition for the Education of Children with Disabilities, in-school mental health services would be coordinated by providers and school administration.

Funds are set to be dispersed at the end of October 2019 and the beginning of February 2020.
